The University of Rome, the National Central Library of Rome (The Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma), Iran’s Sa’adi Foundation, the Iranian cultural attaché in Rome and Tehran’s Book City Institute have joined hands to consider the works of the legendary Iranian poet and Sufi mystic Sa’adi Shirazi.
Deputy Director of Tehran’s Book City Institute Ali Asqar Mohammad-Khani said that concurrent with the conference, a new version of Sa’adi’s collected poems translated into Italian will be printed.
Travelling to Italy, Mohammad-Khani met with the Italian scholars of Persian language such as Iranologist Professor Gianroberto Scarcia who has translated the Collected Poems (Divan) of Hafez into Italian; and his wife Professor Biancamaria Scarcia who have carried out extensive researches on Persian language, Islamic and Shi’ite studies.
These meetings prepared the ground for holding the conference “Sa’adi and Literary Innovation”.
